What Zero Discrimination Day is

A United Nations observance launched by UNAIDS in 2014 and held on 1 March, promoting equality and opposing discrimination in all forms. Should you do merch for it?

No. An awareness day belongs to the movement that created it, not to the companies that notice it.

Three questions settle it. Is there a documented, funded position that exists the rest of the year? Is a material action attached? Would you do this if nobody outside the company could see it? Fewer than two clear yes answers means no.

Baba Marta is a real ritual with an object at its centre: a red and white woven martenitsa, given by everyone to everyone, worn until the first sign of spring and then tied to a tree. In wool or cotton on a printed card explaining the custom in two languages, it costs very little. Red and white only, no plastic, and it does not travel outside Bulgaria.

For a March activation across the whole company, Employee Appreciation Day on 6 March is the strongest date in the month, and Start of Spring is the seasonal alternative.
